Humongous URL!, Projects

screen-shot-2010-06-02-at-75553-amI threw Humongous URL! together as kind of a joke, but I figured I would share it with everyone anyway.  It’s basically the anti-url shortener.

It basically takes a standard url like this:
http://www.google.com

And turns it into something ridiculous like this:
http://www.humongousurl.com/r/38b63de0fec25916c5255387df1532319d68098d3e16ef6d5f5b...

See, I couldn’t even show the entire link without throwing off the entire layout of my site.  That’s how HUMONGOUS it is!

These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.

    Hey! I like that! I was thinking, can you do the opposite? Make a long url short? That would be great to promote to people on twitter. I hate it when I want to put a link on twitter and it is so long and it leaves me no room to write. Maybe I just don’t know how to use twitter… Just an idea.
