U.S. National Debt Graph

Posted on 18. Nov, 2008 by Richard in Projects, U.S. National Debt Graph

Have you ever wanted to see a graphical representation of how screwed we are as a nation?  Well, I wrote an application that does just that.  With a few mouse clicks, you can see for yourself how we ended up more than $10 trillion dollars in debt.

I downloaded the data from Treasury Direct, and wrote the application using Adobe Flex 2, MySQL and AMFPHP.

Hope you went to your Tea-Party!

Maybe we can get this beast under control if we work together with our neighbors.

    Good work on your graph.

Can you do one for debt/GDP over time?
    hgh.

    Hey, thanks for the feedback.

I will definitely consider adding the debt/GDP when i have some free time.

I’m currently working on adding some more graphs, including unemployment over time, so keep checking back. :)

Debt is the biggest issue facing us all.
I found this video on YouTube which really opened my eyes to the importance of getting out of debt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50bWUrKAbwU
I am sure you will be as amazed as I was.
